Our Workflow

This section is dedicated to individuals interested in commissioning my services to create a custom coin for their specific needs, whether it's to commemorate a person, place, item, or event.

Over the years, I have completed over 150 custom coin designs for a diverse range of clients, to include communities like the merfolks and the 501st Stormtrooper, as well as organizations such as Mason lodges, military units, and law enforcement/fire departments across the United States and Canada.

Below, I outline the process for creating a commemorative coin, whether for a single-use or mass production runs if desired by the client.

Getting Started with the Initial Design: To kick off the creative process, you have the option to either begin with a blank piece of paper or utilize our provided template for a standard round coin shape. This template serves as a visual guide, indicating the usual areas available for text or image customization.

While the standard coin size is typically 2 inches in diameter, primarily for cost-effectiveness, it's important to note that there are no rigid constraints on size and shape. Today, coins can take on a multitude of forms, accommodating the unique vision of creators and artists.

Below, we showcase some examples of unconventional coin shapes for inspiration.

Pricing: Once the artwork, verbiage, and styled features are agreed upon, Albie's Art will provide a final price estimate. This will encompass various costs and fees, including the Art Fee, Project Management, Mold Fees, as well as shipping and insurance for product transit. Coin costs can vary widely based on factors like size, shape, thickness, and complexity. Manufacturing commences only after full payment is received.

Payment Options: If you prefer alternative payment methods like PayPal, please coordinate with Albie's Art.

Digital Art Layout: As manufacturing begins, you will receive a digital art layout along with a color chart and essential information. This serves as a formal agreement between you and the manufacturer, ensuring that your requested design is feasible. It's crucial to review and confirm all aspects of the design in writing for the project to proceed. A simple text or email response suffices.

3D Imagery: You'll also receive 3D computer imagery of the proposed coin, which is used to program the CNC cutter for mold production. While corrections are still possible at this stage, significant changes can lead to delays and additional costs.

Updates and Turnaround: You can request additional updates, and I will liaise with the manufacturer to provide you with current images and project statuses. On average, the turnaround time for a project, once funds are confirmed, is approximately 4 to 6 weeks

Shipping and Notification: Once the coins are ready and in my possession, you'll receive a USPS tracking number. I will also contact you through text message to confirm the completion and arrange for shipping.

I trust that these steps will guide you in your decision to create and develop your custom coin. If you're interested in designing a coin, please feel free to contact me at albiesart@gmail.com or call (863) 438-1421.
